Waterman supports new Community Growth Area scheme

Waterman Transport & Development has been appointed by Persimmon Homes and Gladedale to provide transportation advice for a new Community Growth Area (CGA) surrounding the settlements of Gartcosh and Glenboig, North Lanarkshire.

The proposals are expected to expand the Gartcosh and Glenboig villages by approximately 3,000 dwellings and whilst housing will form the main focus, other facilities, such as, retail, education, leisure facilities and open space will be considered to support the existing and future populations.

As a result of the increased travel demand generated by the CGA on the local and neighbouring trunk road networks, the overarching objective of the commission will be to review and assess the potential access and offsite infrastructure requirements through production of a Strategic Transport (Capacity) Assessment.
