Waterman welcomes Associate Director in Sydney

We are pleased to welcome Shannon Hanly-Jones as Associate Director to our team in Sydney.

Shannon will be leading the mechanical team to further develop and strengthen our presence in the region.

With a degree in mechanical engineering and over 10 years’ experience in the building services industry, Shannon has worked on numerous landmarks and industry leading projects. He joins us from Norman Disney and Young where he led their Interiors Market Sector. His responsibilities included running the interiors team, business development, managing national clients such as Deloitte and responsible for the delivery of large complex multidisciplinary projects.

Shannon has worked as both consultant and contractor which has given him a wholistic understanding of projects from the design stage, through to handover. He has designed or project led projects in a range of industries including health, education, retail, commercial offices, data centres and telecommunications exchanges. Shannon’s portfolio of most recent projects includes the Navitas Fitout, Deloitte Melbourne Fitout, KPMG Fitout Barangaroo, PWC Fitout Barangaroo, Gilbert + Tobin Barangaroo and the CBA Australian Technology Park Fitout.

Having led the Interiors Market Sector, Shannon is aware of the current industry trends, including the role that ‘smart buildings’ are playing for both the landlord and tenant. He has worked on ‘smart buildings’ such as Barangaroo, 477 Collins Street Melbourne and The Australian Technology Park.

Working with tenants has allowed him to understand what a ‘smart building’ means for them to help them realise their project aspirations through the design and implementation process.

Shannon’s skills are centred around working with the client, understanding their requirements and using this knowledge to assist them through the leasing negotiation, due diligence, briefing & concept, project delivery and construction.
