Work underway for new residential community at Tandy’s Lane
Waterman’s team in Dublin are delighted to be working alongside Quintain Ireland to provide multidiscipline engineering design services and health & safety consultancy for their site at Tandy’s Lane, part of the ambitious 215 ha Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) in west Dublin which was originally adopted by South Dublin County Council in 2003 and updated in 2014.
Tandy’s Lane will provide over 750 houses and apartments in addition to community facilities as part of the overall SDZ masterplan. Initial scheming is now underway with a planning application to be submitted to the planning authority in the near future. Waterman’s team is also supporting Quintain on their adjacent St Helen’s Phase 2 site where 300 homes are currently under construction.
Once completed, Adamstown will provide a sustainable new community for over 25,000 residents with the inclusion of 8,000 new homes, schools, shops, sports facilities, a district centre and 70 acres of parkland across 11 neighbourhoods. An existing railway line links residents to Dublin city centre.
Paul O’Connell, Managing Director for Waterman Moylan, commented; “We are pleased to have the opportunity to build on the relationship with Quintain Ireland on the new Tandy’s Lane project which will deliver a fantastic community for people to live, work and thrive in.”
