Our Air Quality Team has contributed to reduce impacts and improve local air quality conditions for residential users as part of the design of the development.
Whilst the details of the residential units are in outline, we undertook the following Residential Mitigation Design Measures:
• Use of Green Infrastructure to screen and capture dust;
• Eastern façade building form designed to act as a screen from adjacent wharf operations;
• Limited windows and no residential windows looking over Kirtling Wharf, achieved by placing corridors along the eastern façade with single aspect units; and
• Proposed mechanical ventilation system for future users, which will be fitted with filters to remove NO2 and odours from the air prior to ventilating the units
