The new retail designation has been designed to be carbon neutral in terms of its regulated consumption, with energy efficiency measures reducing the carbon emissions created by sources such as heating, hot water, and cooling.

Phase two of the development comprises an additional 150,000 sq ft of retail space adjacent to the existing site, which provides 320,000 sq ft of prime open A1 Retail accommodation, anchored by a 60,000 sq ft Debenhams department store and a M&S general merchandise store. The extension also includes 500 car parking spaces and creates the opportunity for 120 new jobs in the area.

Waterman was appointed to provide structural, civil and ecology services to design all aspects of the park, including the 120m long retail terrace building, canal retaining wall embankments and two new highway junctions. We were also the lead engineering and environmental consultant on phase one of the development which completed in 2015.

Phase two of the development reached completion in December 2017.
