3D Computer Modelling

In order to enable complex structures to be designed and detailed with greater accuracy and facilitate collaborative working within the design, construction and FM teams, advanced 3D computer modelling techniques are applied to the engineering design process.

Architecture, structure and building services are assembled in a virtual model allowing greater appreciation of the interfaces between components. Our 3D modelling process allows a designer to develop a fully coordinated model  incorporating the different design disciplines combating the need for late changes in the design development, meaning engineering costs are avoided in the design process.

In order to comply with Egan principles, best practice and sustainability, we have developed a 3D interactive design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and facilities management process. This process produces a single 3D building services project model which incorporates the design, schedules of materials, installation, fabrication drawing and programming as fitted drawings and Facilities Management data all incorporated into one model.

This process means there is a considerable saving on cost, time and waste for our clients’ projects. The information is made available electronically to an entire construction team and can be utilised throughout the life of a project.
