Waterman’s building services team provided innovative solutions to help facilitate the development’s key objective to reduce operational carbon. We drove down energy use as part of the MEP design on this prestigious scheme working alongside architect’s, Mae. Waterman’s solution incorporates the latest heat recovery air source heat pump technology providing 100% renewable energy heating and hot water solutions, delivering a truly sustainable development. In addition, high and low temperature thermal stores are used to maximise the efficiency of the system that utilises staged temperature control to optimise heat pump energy performance. Energy use is closely monitored through intelligent controls and the high efficiency LED lighting significantly reduces electrical consumption.
Peter Downing, Waterman’s Director of Building Services, said; “It’s fantastic to see these apartments of this prestigious scheme go on sale. Chimes sets a benchmark for sustainability in retirement living, offering stunning facilities to residents whilst minimising the environmental impact and setting a new standard for the sector.”
