Waterman appointed to Midlands Connect Technical Framework

Published 1st November 2022

The framework will run for four years, and will see our team providing specialist environmental assessment consultancy services covering natural capital, carbon quantification, biodiversity and ecology advice. The framework is open to all local authorities in the Midlands Connect area.

Midlands Connect is a partnership of Councils, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Chambers of Commerce funded by Government to develop the outcomes of its transport strategy for the Midlands. First published in March 2017, the strategy is designed to boost economic growth and contribute to the delivery of the ‘Midlands Engine’, which aims to transform regional and UK gateways by bringing the Midlands closer together and accelerate cost-effective improvements to unlock east-west connectivity.

Waterman’s Regional Director for the framework, Ruth Jeffs, said: “Midlands Connect is helping to drive much needed strategic transport investment to improve connectivity across the Midlands and beyond. We are delighted to have the opportunity work collaboratively with the team, the key stakeholders and other suppliers on the framework to deliver improvements that will help build a prosperous net-zero carbon future for the region.”

Waterman’s partnership with Midlands Connect builds upon our expanding portfolio of public sector frameworks across the UK, including recent appointments with the Oxford City Council, Birmingham City Council, Scotland Excel and the London Borough of Southwark.
