Property Week Award Win for Biodiversity Toolkit!

Published 3rd August 2023

At last week’s Property Week Management All-Star Awards we took home the Innovator Award for our Biodiversity Toolkit!

The annual Awards are among the most sought-after in the property industry, with winners recognised for their outstanding innovation and contribution to the management of the commercial built environment. This year’s event took place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The Biodiversity Toolkit, developed by Waterman’s ecology specialists in Bristol in collaboration with Berkeley Group, was designed to help developers meet biodiversity targets by achieving a net gain for biodiversity in-line with planning policy requirements. It provides a detailed project management and Biodiversity Impact Assessment (BIA) calculator service; BREEAM pre-assessment summary; ecology survey calendar; species planting lists; and lists of national and local priority habitats and species to allow for effective ecological design.

Sebastian Fitzgerald, Waterman senior Ecologist and Lee Mantle, Waterman Associate Director of Ecology, attended the event. Upon collecting the award, Lee said; “It’s incredible to win this award and I am delighted that our team’s expertise and hard work has been acknowledged with such a prestigious recognition.”

Recently ‘Highly Commended’ within the Innovation category at the Constructing Excellence South West Built Environment Awards and winner of the CIRIA’s Big Biodiversity Challenge Client Award, this further highlights the excellent work of all concerned and is a fitting tribute to their innovative approach.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Toolkit!
