Waterman strengthens sustainability team with strategic hire

Waterman is delighted to welcome Dr Ankit Singh who joins our Property Sustainability team in London as Associate Director.

Joining us from Silcock Dawson and Partners, Ankit brings a wealth of sustainability expertise with a specific specialism in embodied carbon. For the past decade, he has been at the forefront of delivering strategic sustainability solutions for the built environment.

Working extensively with developers, contractors, research groups and Universities, Ankit has developed energy, whole-life carbon and sustainability strategies, and delivered low-carbon and circular economy advice for a diverse range of schemes, sectors and organisations.

His extensive experience incorporates specialist research for the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) programme, British Institute of Facilities Management, Department of Energy and Climate Change’s Smart Meters initiative, and he was also heavily involved with the development of the ESG benchmarking index for facilities management organisations in the UK.

Ankit’s exceptional academic background includes a PhD from the University of Reading which focused on the development of Corporate Social Responsibility strategies in large UK construction firms. In addition, he has published and co-authored several peer-reviewed papers and industry reports on sustainability in the built environment. Ankit is also a Programme Leader at University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School, where he delivers the executive programme on ‘Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies’ to a huge range of leading international businesses and organisations.

Ankit will play a leading role in Waterman’s strategic sustainability team. Championing the delivery of net zero strategies for our clients, he will ensure whole-life carbon, circular economy and climate resilience principles are all embedded in our designs, reducing the carbon impact of our projects as the industry continues to adapt in the face of the climate emergency. Sharing his specialist knowledge, Ankit will work with technical teams across our business to ensure they offer best in class advice on tackling carbon reduction as part of our cross-discipline, holistic design approach.

Mark Terndrup, Waterman’s Managing Director for Building Services (South), commented: “I am delighted to welcome Ankit to the team. He joins us at a pivotal time as we address the challenge of delivering a net zero built environment, and Ankit’s appointment is part of our ongoing expansion plans which reflect our continued growth and success in this area. I’m certain Ankit’s deep technical and academic experience will be a huge asset to both the team and the wider business.”
