The new Lockhart Campus ASN school picked up the award for ‘Project of the Year – Inclusive Design’ at the 2023 Learning Places Scotland Awards.
The ‘additional support needs’ school in North Ayrshire brings together four existing special needs schools into a single combined site, providing an all-through facility for children from early years through to primary and secondary education. The campus offers a range of classroom settings as well as a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and a soft-play area. Two stand-alone respite and residential buildings were also incorporated within the development to provide a place for students and family to transition to the community.
