Published 1st August 2023

Cara Labuschagne has joined Waterman as an Associate Director heading up our Climate Resilience team. Based in our Glasgow office, she will focus on supporting our clients in their preparations for physical and transitional climate risks.

With a master’s degree in Carbon Management and over 10 years’ experience in climate adaptation and mitigation in senior analytical, consultancy and leadership roles, Cara has amassed a deep knowledge of UK climate impacts and policy. She also brings a wealth of expertise in broader sustainability initiatives such as TCFD, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and climate-related ISO standards.

Prior to joining us, Cara assessed national progress on climate adaptation at the UK Climate Change Committee, where she advised government on delivering climate resilient, net zero infrastructure and contributed to the third UK Climate Change Risk Assessment.

Commenting on Cara’s appointment, Waterman’s Regional Director and Greenspace lead, Guy Jeremiah, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Cara to our growing team! In addition to boosting the climate resilience support available across Waterman’s projects, she’ll become the driving force behind our new Climate Space offering. I’m certain her passion, expertise and experience will prove a key asset for our clients as they forge a path to a climate resilient future.”
