Double win for National Manufacturing Institute Scotland at Scottish Property Awards

Published 4th March 2024

The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland scooped two awards at Glasgow’s 2024 Scottish Property Awards, with the carbon neutral development announced as the winner in the ‘Large Development of the Year (Public buildings)’ and ‘Architectural Excellence Award (Public use)’ categories.

Designed by HLM Architects, NMIS aims to help manufacturing businesses throughout Scotland become world leaders in innovation. The 11,500 sqm development will act as a magnet for leading-edge manufacturing, engineering and tech businesses, offering a creative place where they can come together to share skills and develop new ideas. Following just over two years of construction, the University of Strathclyde recently took ownership of the completed facility at the heart of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS).

The award-winning scheme has already picked up a number of other industry awards, including ‘Offsite Project of the Year’ at the Building Awards.
