BioCity Nottingham

This significant project involved the transformation of a former Boots and BASF pharmaceutical complex to create a new home for young bioscience businesses through a partnership between the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and East Midlands Development Agency.

Opened in 2008, the Laurus Building was the second phase of the wider BioCity scheme. This development provided 48,000 sq ft of ‘grow-on’ office and laboratory facilities across five storeys.

Waterman’s building services specialists provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the infrastructure, shell and core laboratory and CAT A office fit outs. This incorporated CCTV, specialist extract systems, district heating integration with thermal modelling, security services, ventilation systems, power and data services.

In addition, the scheme saw our team working closely with tenant, Sygnature Chemical Services, to incorporate their specific installation requirements.
