Good Green Design Awards: One Fen Court’s ‘The Garden at 120

Published 10th October 2022

The Awards aim to recognise the outstanding individuals, companies, organisations, governments and institutions across the world who have shown exceptional thinking and inspired greater progress towards a healthier and more sustainable universe.

Located in the heart of London’s insurance district, Eric Parry Architects designed the exceptional 15 storey commercial and retail building at 120 Fenchurch Avenue for developer Generali Real Estate. Showcasing a unique crown like arrangement, ‘The Garden at 120’ is situated on the 15th floor and offers stunning views of Canary Wharf, St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge.

This spectacular roof garden, designed in collaboration with German landscape architects Latz + Partner, is decorated with 79 wisteria trees, pergola canopies, 5,000 bulbs and a 200 ft recessed flowing water feature as an exclusive retreat and open space for the local office workers, Londoners and visitors alike.

Waterman’s building services, sustainability and acoustic teams were appointed by Generali Real Estate to work closely alongside Development Manager CORE, Greycoat and Sir Robert McAlpine for the prestigious One Fen Court project. With sustainability being a key focus for the building, the scheme incorporates a low energy design strategy that is recognised by its BREEAM ‘excellent’ certification.
