Published 8th August 2023

Waterman are delighted that the latest building at Jersey’s International Finance Centre (IFC), IFC5, won the ‘Sustainability Award’ at the Jersey Construction Council (JeCC) awards.

The annual JeCC awards celebrate excellence in construction across Jersey, rewarding outstanding projects. This year’s winners were announced at a gala dinner on Saturday night, held at the Royal Jersey Showground.

Providing 6,400 m of premium Grade A office space over six storeys, the MJP Architects-designed IFC5 building offers office space of the highest quality for international businesses. SANNE – a leading global provider of alternative asset and corporate administrative services – have taken residence over three floors.

Our multidiscipline team was involved in the project since its inception, providing structural and building services designs, as well as assisting with BREEAM, acoustics, ground contamination and transport planning for the building. Our sustainability experts provided expert advice on the control of solar gain, ensuring the building had the optimum level of glazing performance to reduce unwanted heat gain whilst maximising natural Daylight and external views. IFC5 also incorporates low and zero carbon technologies with air source heat pumps to improve the energy performance by 15% above the minimum standards, with the scheme achieving a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

Congratulations to all involved with the project!
