Waterman completed the site master plan further to full design and documentation for this new Silver Thomas Hanley-designed, 30,000 sqm, state-of-the-art hospital.

The new Monash Children’s Hospital is the third largest provider of specialised paediatric services in Australia. The new facility has 230-beds supported by four new operating theatres and one procedure room. This additional capacity enables the hospital to treat 7,000 more children each year.

Waterman provided full MEP engineering services design for this project which incorporated new theatres, ICU, CCU, wards and allied health departments. The works also included major site infrastructure upgrade works to support the new building, including chillers, boiler, site high voltage upgrades, medical gas systems, standby generators and rainwater harvesting.

The new seven-storey hospital was built on the existing hospital site. The new facilities will allow Monash Children’s greater capacity to meet future demands for its services and adds a purpose-designed environment for children and young people.
