Waterman have developed our own specialist BIM integrated analysis tool – ‘Wat Carbon’ to facilitate rapid analysis of the embodied carbon in our structural solutions. Our carbon calculator tool takes Revit data and applies carbon measures to deliver carbon tonnages. It facilitates timely decision making that effectively factors in carbon as part of the design development. We have used our extensive portfolio to analyse historic projects using ‘Wat Carbon’, which has resulted in the development of benchmarking tools. These tools allow us to advise on the likely impact of early design decisions, demonstrating their contribution to the development’s embodied carbon metrics.
