Our sustainability design approach follows the principal rules of “Reduce, Recycle, Re-use” with an emphasis placed on reducing the embodied energy of the building and its use of energy in operation.

These studies improve the sustainable performance of a building but they need to be coupled with a strategy to demonstrate this performance both to the sustainability assessment bodies (e.g. BREEAM) and the building’s potential occupiers.

Common techniques include designing buildings suited to off-site manufacturing techniques; designing buildings which can adapt to suit evolving occupier needs; re-engineering existing buildings; re-using existing foundations and maximising the recycled content within a building.
