Flood Risk Assessments

A flood risk assessment identifies the source of potential flooding, the extent of flooding and the proposed mitigation measures.

Hydraulic models can be used to simulate flood events, to enable us to have a better understanding of flood risk and to develop options to manage that risk. We use flood models and ground modelling to assess the impact of flooding on a proposed development and the impact of the development on the watercourse, as well as determining levels of flood protection, breach and blocked culvert analysis and developing alleviation options. We are experienced in developing flood and drainage models and have the capability to work with a range of modelling packages including; Hec-Ras, Micro Drainage, Info Works, TUFLOW and 12D.

We have many years of hydrological and engineering experience in flood risk assessment and flood mitigation used to develop technically feasible and cost effective flooding solutions. Our multi-disciplined team of engineers and hydrologists have the expertise to provide innovative solutions appropriate to our clients’ needs. Our experience and close working relationship with the Environment Agency, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, local authorities and water companies enables us to progress schemes swiftly through the planning process.
