Waterman won the ‘Top Employer – Engineering’ award at the 2020 School Leaver Awards, beating stiff competition from the likes of Mott MacDonald, Arup and Atkins.
These are the leading awards for school leavers and overall school engagement as they celebrate the top employers and training providers who recruit and support school and college leavers throughout the UK.
Across 46 categories, the finalists were selected based on entries created and submitted by participating employers, with some award categories also based on feedback from the employer’s apprentices. The categories, for which their experiences are rated, range from work-life balance and salary to company culture and team dynamic.
As a result of this award win, and our nomination across several other categories, Waterman Group is proud to feature at number twelve in School Leaver Awards’ ‘Top 150 Employers’.
Nick Harrison, Waterman’s Head of Learning & Development, said: “Winning this award is a fantastic achievement. It is great recognition for our school leavers and all those who mentor, line-manage and support them. This is a major fillip for our Apprenticeship scheme and an endorsement of our active support of charities such as the Construction Youth Trust and XLP, amongst others. A huge thanks to all my Waterman colleagues involved in all these initiatives, as well as those who help deliver our calendar of school engagement activities and participate in careers events.”
